Private Health Insurance

Private Health Insurance Rebates (only available with our Dietitian Aleesha)

If you have private health insurance, you may be eligible to receive a rebate for appointments with our Dietitian. This applies to both in-person and Telehealth single initial or review consultations.

Rebate Process: After you have paid for your consultation, we will provide you with a receipt. You can then use this receipt to claim your rebate directly with your private health insurer.

Rebate Amount: The rebate amount you are entitled to depends on your health insurance policy. To determine your exact rebate, contact your private health insurer prior to your appointment. Provide them with the consultation cost and the relevant HICAPS item numbers listed below:

  • Initial Consultation: HICAPS Item Number 500

  • Review Consultation: HICAPS Item Number 600

By giving these details to your insurer, they will inform you of the out-of-pocket expenses you may incur.

Medicare

If you've been referred to our Dietitian through Medicare’s Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM), you could be eligible for up to five consultations per year. For those with chronic conditions like Diabetes, IBS, Hypertension, High Cholesterol, or PCOS, talk to your doctor about your eligibility for this referral.

To qualify for the rebate, your doctor needs to create the plan before your appointment. Make sure to bring a copy of the plan and a GP referral letter to your consultation.

Dietetics Consultation out of pocket costs:

  • 60 MIN INITIAL CONSULTATION (Medicare): $122 (without rebate usually $180)

  • 60 MIN INITIAL CONSULTATION WITH MEAL PLAN (Medicare): $242 (without rebate usually $300)

  • 30 MIN REVIEW CONSULTATION (Medicare): $42 (without rebate usually $100)

Getting Started:

1. Consult Your Doctor: Ask your doctor if you're eligible for the CDM plan.

2. Develop Your Plan: Ensure your doctor creates your care plan before your appointment.

3. Gather Documents: Bring your CDM plan and a GP referral letter to your dietitian consultation.

If you have a Medicare referral from your GP you can also select the “First Consultation” and outline in your booking notes that you have a referral and are eligible for medicare rebates. You will need to email us this paperwork or bring it with you to your consultation for us to process your rebate.

Please note rebates are only available with our Dietitian Aleesha.
